Nicole Downey

Nicole has coached cheerleading for over a decade and has been part of the South Burlington Dolphins Foundation since 2013. Over the years, she has developed dozens of highly competitive athletes who have gone on to cheer at South Burlington High School, helping power programs that have become dominant state champions — and when not winning, always in the title conversation.

This marks Nicole’s 12th year leading the Dolphins cheer squad, and the team is energized and ready to compete this fall. In recognition of her long-standing dedication, she was recently honored with the Dolphins Decade Award for her commitment and impact on the program.

Most recently, Nicole also led the F.H. Tuttle Middle School cheer team to a 1st-place finish at the NVAC Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, February 7, 2026 — defeating eight other youth teams.
