We are ecstatic to share that Dolphin’ Michel Bergeron recently coached on the first ever HBCU Unified Basketball Game held on March 22nd at Memorial Hall on Delaware State University’s campus. Michel helped re-establish the relationship between DSU and SODE (Special Olympics DE) to put on the game.

In a thrilling ESPN rivalry game, Delaware State University Unified and Howard Unified faced off in a special olympics basketball game which showcased the talent and spirit of their students and local athletes.
Michel’s Special Olympics basketball team suffered a 70-54 loss to their opponents from Howard University. Despite this, their initiatives underscore the importance of inclusion and unity in sports.

We are reminded of the profound impact individuals can make when they come together in pursuit of a common goal and Michel’s dedication to uplifting others through sports exemplifies these strong core values, and we couldn’t be prouder to see him continue to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. Michel hopes to start up a special olympics program working with the Dolphins back home here in South Burlington.
